Inn at Middleton Place Review

The Inn at Middleton Place is a modern structure which contrasts the 1800's plantation surroundings with its award winning four building design. The unique buildings are intended to provide guests with an observation of and unity with the beauty of the natural surroundings river views and gardens. Floor to ceiling windows provide the sense that one is interacting with the outdoors while remaining in the rustic comfort and privacy of the rooms. The grounds and gardens surrounding the inn are an attraction in and of themselves so the astute architect opted to not only design the exterior of the buildings to work in unity with the landscape but also to bring the landscape as an interactive feature into each room.

Beautifully outfitted with working wood fireplaces, luxurious baths each with a jetted garden tub, the rich golden hue of cypress paneling and furnished with simple handcrafted furniture, the rooms provide the senses with a variety of bucolic sites, scents and sounds with a touch of luxury for the enjoyment of guests of the Inn at Middleton Place. Despite the offering of all the modern electronic and comfort amenities expected of a luxury inn, one is soothed by the quietude of the 18th century.
